ADDENDUM

SPANISH 101 (Spring 200

Effective April 8, 2008 @ 11:10

 Your final grade will be lowered one full letter grade if:

1. You are disrespectful (talking back to me, calling me names - “you are like a 5th grader” -, talking in class about topics that are not related to the subject, refusing to do something that I requested you to do, making derogatory comments about the class or my decisions, making facial gestures, or any other gesture directed at me or any other classmate.)
2. You use you cell phone or text during class.
3. You check web sites that are not the ones assigned by me.
4. You don’t refrain from socializing with another classmate after you finished doing exercises assigned.

You will have half an absence if:

1. You arrive after your name is called at the beginning of class. If you are late because you had to stay longer in the previous class, you should give the name and email address of you instructor. The half absence will remain until I can verify with your instructor that what you told me was true. After four half absences you will have one full absence. Remember that after four absences your grade will be lowered a full letter grade for each subsequent absence.
2. You leave the classroom after the class started, even for a minute.
3. You share the textbook with another classmate. You can only share a textbook when doing paired or group activities, otherwise you should work individually. If you have to work in groups you are expected to talk about the exercise assigned. Refrain from socializing with another classmate after you finished the exercise. If you choose to do so, your grade will be lowered one full letter grade.
4. You sleep in class.

… Once you are informed that you are failing the course, you should stop coming to class. If you choose to keep coming just to make a point it will be considered harassment.
