Philadelphia is the home base of many major contemporary R&B artists. The Sounds of R&B series features well known and critically acclaimed national recording artists who are either from Philadelphia or have worked with Philadelphia-based music producers and artists. Each Friday in July (except July 4) will feature a different performer.
The Bank of America Sounds of R&B series gets an early start this year when it opens with Philadelphia native Kevin Michael (June 28) and keeps the music coming strong with Fertile Ground (July 11), Frank McComb (July 18) and closes out the concert series with Ledisil and Lalah Hathaway (July 25).
TWJJZ Smooth Jazz Summer Nights (August)
The sounds of local and national Smooth Jazz artists will fill the air every Friday night in August at 7:30 p.m.The concert series will feature Warren Hill (August 1), Everette Harp (August 8), Maysa (August 15) and Nick Colionne (August 22) before closing out the summer season with Gerald Veasley, Walter Beasley and Chuck Loeb (August 29).
